First burn
Let the first burn reach the edges of the vessel. This sets an even melt pool for every burn after it.
Candle care
A few simple things make a candle burn better.
Let the first burn reach the edges of the vessel. This sets an even melt pool for every burn after it.
Trim the wick before lighting, down to about a quarter inch. Clear away any loose trimmings first.
Keep each burn to four hours or less. Let the wax cool before you move the candle.
Burn on a heat-safe, level surface. Don't leave a candle unattended, and keep it away from drafts, kids, and pets.
